Im now ready to leave the HMV casualtys ward it finally arrived today and was waiting in for me when i arrived home from work. I feel much better now its all over. Its been worth it.
My verdict is its an excellent tribute to Cable, im on my second listen already, even some of the tunes i wasnt so keen on before sound so much better on cd and through proper speakers, i think its been compiled very well too putting some of the more mellow songs in between the rocking ones works very well giving you a chance to breathe before the next one belts in.
My personal favourites would have to be knives version of Signature Tune and My Awesome Compilations take on Blue Birds Are Blue, but the majority do work very well. I even quite like the God Gave Me Gravity cover now that ive heard it through decent speakers, i guess ive been proved wrong on some of my previous comments and opinions
It just works so well as an album and people were right, they really need to be listened as a whole to appreciate it.
The only song that doesnt work for me for me is Ultra Violet, just doesnt work for me but i can see that he was really trying to play with the timing but not to good effect unfortunately.
Its such a brilliant idea to have made this album to show respect to what was such a great band. Part 2??
