Hi all - assuming that folk do check in here from time to time. Thought you might like to know that the 4 members of Cable (post Down-Lift line up) are meeting together in Brighton tomorrow - the 21st April, 2011, for the first time in 5 years. The purpose of this (apart from socialising) is two fold - first of all, we will be supping an ale or two in memorial to Martin Gilks, who died 5 years ago this month. Martin was Cable's manager and former Wonderstuff drummer. The second reason, you might be more excited about, but I can't say yet... more news as it happens.

"excited about" If it's what we all hope for (please please please)........then yes, very effing excited!
-
SAY THE SECOND PART OF THIS IS TRUE?
-
Pete you big tease! Any kind of hope is good of course, i don't like to speculate but it does excite me thinking that we might see more from Cable in the future! My music tastes have vastly changed over the years but Cable are one of a few bands from back in the day i still have a lot of time for. Although Cable didn't really make it that big, the people that did have the fortune of discovering them loved them.

Oh my god! This would make my life! I'd give my right arm to see cable again! I still listen to cable all the time, and I still think they were so ahead of their time. For them to play again and show these new awful bands how its done would be amazing!
Fingers crossed!

Anything new to report Pete?????
-
I hope so.. I've been salivating since I read that tease up there!

What's the news? Be it gigs or recordings, either way it's fucking fantastic!
-
Gigs and recordings.........and more gigs please ;). Saw the mighty Cable quite a few times and every time was a belter.
C'mon chaps, put us out of our collective state of suspension. I for one am checking this site for any news at least once a day, if not more.
-
A lot of groups record tracks by sending their section to one another when distance is an issue ;)
Although i have a feeling cable would work better when in the same room. Man im so bored of most music these days, some new cable recordings would be just what the doctor ordered.
-
I think I know what Cable are going to do next! ;)
-
C'mon Greg, spill the beans........PLEASE.
-
Ask Pete!

Today's music is crying out for Cable, just like it was back in the day. There is a massive void in the UK music scene that cable fills quite nicely just need more of it. I still listen to the albums and EP's regularly to this day, and alas never got the chance to see them play live. I would give my left one to see a cable gig, so In the words of Mike Skinner "please please i'm begging you please"

I had an unusual dream last night where I went to see a reformed cable. I thought I would check this site as i haven't been on it for a while. I can only assume that nothing came of the meeting :(
