Title: Interview questions
Post by: Damon on October 16, 2012, 06:52:25 pm

Its just over a month until the Cable shows and i'll be doing a face to face interview with the guys so if you have anything you would like to ask the guys post your questions here and i'll run them by them next month.

Ever wondered who's hand that is on the Animals album cover? Ever wondered where they bought their brothel creepers from? Well now is your chance to find out so get posting!

Have you considered Pledge Music, where fans fund your records without any need for a record company, for a possible future release (a very tenuous idea at the moment, I know)? It worked wonders for Ginger out of The Wildhearts - he ended up with more money to record with than he ever did when he was on a major label, just by communicating directly with the fans...

Choose a song each for a Cable covers album.

here's a few to get you going:

What was in the box?

Did they ever consider getting a contract killer to do a 'waste management' style job on their ex-manager who sued them?

How did they end up getting Richie after Cooper left, and were they all intimidated by his 'rock powers'?

In retrospect, is there anything that could have been done to avoid the way they got fucked over by the man? (from the outside the decision by the judge seemed disproportionate and essentially killed off their livelihoods)

for Darius - tell us about the story of the cake and the washer/dryer at the party that cable played?

What's your favourite story from all the years practising at the bakery (pretty much everyone whos practised at the bakery has a story about something that they saw around there)

Were they ever tempted to reform in the past and continue where they left off?

Did they have any new songs in the pipeline before they split?

.....there you go :)

I'd like to know what they themselves think of why this reunion is so important to people.

Richie - which Cable drum parts are your favourites? And were any of Cooper's drum parts a bugger to learn?

What bands are you listening to at the moment that Cable fans should hear?

What have rehearsals been like?

Whose clever idea was it to put 12-odd minutes of feedback at the end of the version of Murdering Spree that appeared on the Whisper Firing Line single?

Probably missed the boat by the looks of things but just in case:

Daniel P Carter mentioned on his show this week that he done the artwork for when animals attack. How did he get involved with the artwork for the album? Did you's know him at this stage or were you's brought in contact with him?  A fine job he did too!

What song did you attempt first at rehearsal, and how did it go?

Were there any songs you really couldn't be arsed returning to?

Are any of you still in touch with Neil Cooper?

What single/album artwork of Cable's is your favourite/least favourite?

Are there any bands you'd like to see reform, from the 90s or before/after?

Any music recommendations for Cable fans?

Are you NERVOUS???

New questions after the show last night:

What did you say to each other immediately after the gig?

Did playing together feel natural again or are you still getting used to it?

Any songs you particularly enjoyed playing?

Hi Damon,

Ive got a few questions:

What are the lads favorite cable songs, both to play and to listen to?

Was the derby gig as good for them as it was for us?

When Matt mentioned the album on amazon for ?45, what swear word did he think was called out (by me?) I actually shouted 'BARGAIN'

cheers

Thanks for all the questions guys. I sat for an hour in a dressing room at The Forum with Cable and ran some questions by the band. Once i've edited the audio it will get added to the site in the very near future. Had an awesome time hanging out with the band and the show was the tits!

Hope everyone else who went had a great time

Damon!
